Left Tempe at 6:00am heading east on US Hwy-60. It took 28 miles to escape the urban sprawl of the Valley of the Sun. This picture of Picket Post Mountain was taken at the 50 mile mark while entering Superior. The sun is rising and we are looking west toward Tempe. Let the roadtrip really begin.

We stopped at the Superior rest area to find lots of early Monday AM litter. A worker was getting ready to clean it up.
