We arrived in Tempe at about 1:00pm on 31 December 2008 after driving 268 miles. Our 3-day road trip to the Tehachapi Loop was a total of 1,102 miles.

The picture in this slide is of Tempe's Hayden Butte ("A" mountain). The picture was taken at the new Tempe Transportation Center and a couple days earlier the light-rail era began in the Valley of the Sun (Tempe, Mesa, Phoenix).
