"One father is more than a hundred Schoolmasters."
-- George Herbert, Outlandish Proverbs, 1640

groin unprotected." -- Red Buttons
"My father considered a walk among the mountains [corn fields]
as the equivalent of churchgoing." -- Aldous Huxley
I extend a huge THANKS to my dad----who lives in Joliet, Illinois. Truman was a good dad,
but I have always called him Truman and he never gets a Happy Father's
Day card from me. I was lucky that Truman took me out into corn fields
when I was a kid; it was torture for me back then, but I have since
learned that those trips were precious.
I'm a dad and father of two young adults--
and --both of whom were born during the
early 1980s in Columbus, Ohio. I've enjoyed being a dad, but I'm not sure
I have been a good father. Who knows? Bottom line: Being a
parent is not easy and I was lucky that both Bree and Tyler have been
such good kids.
I became a grandpa during July of 2009. We have enjoyed having
and
in our lives.
