"Wake up! It's a Monday morning... No time left to say goodbye... Can't breathe and the lights are changing. You can live your own life... Making it happen... Working on your own time... Laid back and laughin'.... Oh no, oh no." ~ Neil Young. "Last Dance" is one of my favorite Monday songs.
It's Tuesday. When I was being raised Tuesday Weld was an actress and Rick Monday was a baseball player. If Tuesday Weld had married Rick Monday, she would have been Tuesday Monday. If they divorced years later, Rick might have sung Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Tuesday's gone with the wind..."
I don't know why I decided to do a "day of the week" related daily status update this week, but I did. It's Wednesday. Probably politically incorrect to say happy hump day these days. Pc aside, I suspect Tiger Woods and Jesse James won't be wishing anybody a happy hump day any time soon.
I like acronyms. A few years ago KaraG told me about SHIT--So Happy It's Thursday. [sidebar] 24 October 1929 was Black Thursday and many investors probably felt like shit when the day was over.
It's Friday and it's with thanks that I can borrow from ZZ Top to say... "I just got paid today, got me a pocket full of change."
It's Saturday and that means only one more of these "day of the week" status updates. George Carlin once joked: "I enjoy watching reruns of Saturday Night Live and counting all the dead people." I watched SNL when the cast was Aykroyd, Belushi, Radner, Chase, Curtin, Newman, and Morris.
I'll probably never tire of listening to Kris Kristofferson sing... "On the Sunday morning sidewalk, Wishing, Lord, that I was stoned. 'Cos there's something in a Sunday, Makes a body feel alone. And there's nothin' short of dyin', Half as lonesome as the sound, On the sleepin' city sidewalks: Sunday mornin' comin' down."
