Learning About JavaScript

I am not a JavaScript programmer; consequently, this resource should be used with caution.

WWW-base applications consists of webpages combined with client-side and server-side processing. JavaScript supports client-side processing. Sadly, too many people say the following.

Scripting is easy. JavaScript is simple.

Excuse the emphasis of my response: bull-foo! Scripting is programming; programming is not easy. JavaScript is object-oriented and requires understanding of the Document Object Model. Acquiring an object-oriented background requires study.

What is JavaScript?  JavaScript is a programming language that is used in conjunction with HTML for access on the World Wide Web. It is an interpreted scripting language developed by Netscape. It is supported by most major web browsers.
