Downloading and Installing the DevC++ IDE

CSC100@SCC is using DevC++ for Windows as its C++ IDE (Integrated Development Environment). DevC++ is an Open Source project currently hosted at SourceForge.net.

The following are instructions for finding a free version of DevC++ on the web.

  1. Start up the web browser of your choice.

  2. Go to:
    http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/dev-cpp/devcpp4980.exe

  3. Select a "mirror" site--I suggest:
    Phoenix, Arizona

  4. Go ahead and continue with the installation on your Windows computer. Be sure to install the "entire" C++ development system.

This installation procedure will be demonstrated during lecture.
