About the Number 714 (seven hundred fourteen)

On 31 March 2009, MathBabbler's CSC100 class wrote a program to check to see if a number is a member of a Ruth-Aaron pair.

Wikipedia: "The name [Ruth-Aaron pair] was given by Carl Pomerance for Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron, as Ruth's career regular-season home run total was 714, a record which Aaron eclipsed when he hit his 715th career home run. Pomerance was a mathematician at the University of Georgia at the time Aaron broke Ruth's record, and the student of one of Pomerance's colleagues noticed that the sums of the prime factors of 714 and 715 were equal."

On 8 April 2009, MathBabbler read in the Arizona Republic that on 8 April 1974, Hank Aaron hit his 715th home run to break Babe Ruth's record of 714.
