0 is a digit along with being a number.

0 is an even number. (???)

0 is not positive, nor is it negative.

0 is an integer and some people catagorize it as a whole number.

0 is not prime.

0! is 1.

Any non-zero number raised to the 0-power is 1. (0^0 is what?)

0 times anything is 0, but division by 0 should be avoided in lower-level math classes.

|0| is 0 (i.e. the absolute value of 0 is 0).

The logarithm of 0 is undefined.

0 is a valid digit in all number systems (i.e. base-2, base-3, base-4, etc.).

In geometry a point has 0 dimensions.

A constant linear function has a slope of 0.

In the C family of programming languages, integers prefixed with 0 are octal numbers and integers prefixed with 0x are hexadecimal. In addition, the first element of an array is at index 0.

During the Spring 2006 semester, GDT read parts of the book "Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea" by Charles Siefe. The following are hyperlinks to notes taken from the book.
