These street signs were found on the northwest corner of W. 1st St. and S. Hardy Dr. in Tempe, Arizona.

The street signs say...

+---------------------+ | W 1st St 1000 -> | ----------------------- | S Hardy Dr <- 200 | ----------------------- | STOP | | 4-Way | +---------------------+the numbers are: 1 1000 200 4 the math is: 1000 / 200 - 1 = 4 note... Initially we did not see that 200 was a factor of 1000; however, we knew that the 200 could be switched into 100 by using the square root of 4. At that point, we resorted to using the log() function. more math: log(1000) - log(200 / sqrt(4)) = 1 observe... log(1000) = 3 sqrt(4) = 2 200 / 2 = 100 log(100) = 2 3 - 2 = 1
