During mid-May of 2008, RoadHacker drove from Macomb, Illinois, to Maquon, Illinois. The 50 mile drive to Maquon involved driving through the towns/villages of Bushnell, Prairie City, Ellisville, and London Mills. The following imaginary road sign could have been seen when leaving Macomb.

The imaginary road sign says...

+--------------------+ (population) | Bushnell 16 | (3221) | Prairie City 22 | ( 461) | Ellisville 30 | ( 87) | London Mills 38 | ( 447) | Maquon 50 | ( 318) +--------------------+ * mileages from Maps.Yahoo.com * census 2000 populations from Wikipedia.orgthe numbers are: 16 22 30 38 50 the math is: 50 - 30 - sqrt(38 - 22) = 16 observe... 38 - 22 = 16 sqrt(16) = 4 more math: 50 - 38 + 22 - 30 = sqrt(16) [solve for 'n'] 50 - 38 + n - 30 = sqrt(16)
