BARS::Classic BARS on US Hwy-180W and US Hwy-191N in Arizona

This road sign in on US Highway-180 West/US Highway-191 North seven miles south of Eagar, Arizona.

Note: This road sign was first seen during mid-October of 2006; however, the picture wasn't taken until Pi Day 2008.

About This Road Sign

Prior to finding this classic BARS (Basic Arithmetic Road Sign), we saw this road sign five miles east of Alpine, Arizona, on US Highway-180 West.

The road sign says...

   the math is:  30 - 5 = 31base-8

   This road sign is an off-by-one RSeval because 
   it is on US Hwy-180.  

   30 * 5 + 31 = 180 + 1

We didn't know if this road sign was north or south of Alpine, but this road sign located five miles east of Alpine helped us figure out which way to turn once we arrived in Alpine because we knew that Eagar and Springerville are north of Alpine.
