Phoenix Increasing Parking-Meter Rates

Phoenix is increasing per hour parking meter rates from $0.60 to $1.50. In addition, Phoenix is increasing the times during which meters must be paid from 8:00am-to-5:00pm to 8:00am-to-8:00pm (except Sunday).

According to the Arizona Republic the city of Phoenix is expecting 2300 meters to generate income of $1.3 million. Last year, in 2007, 2328 meters generated $1.1 million.
