About the Number 34 (thirty-four)

MathBabbler decided to create a collection of nBABs for the numbers that make up the Fibonacci sequence. He had nBABs for 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21. The next Fibonacci number after 21 is 34.

[Wikipedia] 34 is the magic constant for the following magic square.

   16 3 2 13

    9 6 7 12
    4 14 15 1

[Wikipedia] 34 is a Markov number. This is the first time a nBAB has looked at a Markov number.

   x^2 + y^2 + z^2 = 3xyz

   (1, 13, 34) and (1, 34, 89)

   The first few Markov numbers are: 1, 2, 5, 13, 29, 34, 89,
   169, 194, 233, 433, 610, 985, 1325

34 is two times 17. MathBabbler created this nBAB at the age of three times 17 (i.e. 51).

Note: MathBabbler took a break from working on this nBAB to read the paper and while reading the paper he read that 24 December 2008 was Ryan Seacrest's 34th birthday. (Seacrest is host of "American Idol.")
