Happy 115th Birthday To Edna Parker

[update::2008.11.28] Edna Parker died on 26 November 2008 at the age of 115 (221 days from the date this BAB was created [20 April 2008]). Edna was proceeded in death by her husband and her two sons. Edna's survivors include five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

According to the Gerontology Research Group, Maria de Jesus of Portugal, born in 1893, is now the world's oldest person.

[update::2009.01.03] Maria de Jesus died on 2 January 2009 at the age of 115. Gertrude Baines, of L.A., is now the world's oldest person.

On Sunday, 20 April 2008, Edna Parker turned 115 years in age.

Edna graduated from Franklin College with a degree in teaching in 1911.

Edna's husband Earl died 1938.

These days Edna lives with her son in Shelbyville, Indiana.

According to FoxNews.com: "Only 75 living people -- 64 women and 11 men -- are 110 or older, according to the Gerontology Research Group of Inglewood, Calif."
