The PPI (Producer Price Index) increased 1.0% during March of 2007. Core-PPI, which excludes food and energy, was unchanged.
The following quote was copied from USAToday.com and is from Joel Naroff, president of Naroff Economic Advisors."Food and energy costs are surging, but if you don't have to eat and drive, life is not that bad. This was a pretty good report, if you are a central banker. If you live in the real world, it was not pleasant news."
