Alcatel-Lucent Sets Optical Transmission World Record

Alcatel-Lucent "successfully transmitted a world record `25.6 Terabits per second (Tb/s)` of optical data over a single fiber strand, using 160 Wavelength-Division Multiplexed (WDM) channels - enough bandwidth to transmit the data from more 600 DVDs per second.

Alcatel-Lucent's transmission results "surpassed the previous transmission record of 14 Tb/s, established in September 2006."

Exercises
1. Written as a whole number, `25.6 Terabits` is `_________________________ bits`.

2. `25.6` is `______%` greater than `14`.

3. Typically `one byte` equals `eight bits`; therefore, `25.6 Terabits` equals `___________ Terabytes`.

4. The tera and giga SI prefixes imply `10^12` and `10^9`, respectively. No or Yes: ```25.6 Terabits equals 2,560 Gigabits. ```

``` ```
5. ``` List the prime factors for the number 600. ```
