161 Billion Gigabytes of Information in 2006

On 6 March 2007, the Business section of the Arizona Republic printed an AP story titled "Space crunch looms for the world's data." A study was performed by IDC in which they estimated that the "world generated 161 billion gigabytes, or 161 exabytes, of digital information last year."
