Looking At Fractions Using 'Fit' Versus 'Split'

MathBabbler found the following at HomeSchoolMath.Blogspot.com.

   "Think of fraction division this way: how many times does the 
    divisor fit into the dividend? You can use this to judge the 
    reasonableness of your answer."

It's all about the dividend and its all about choice --the divisor either "fits" or "splits" the dividend.

Exercises

    Record all answers in fractional form.

  1. 8 ÷ (1/4) = _______

  2. (1/8) ÷ 5 = _______

  3. (2/7) ÷ (1/3) = ______
