Litter Prevention In Arches National Park, Utah

[bird looking for food]

While visiting Arches National Park we encountered a bird scouring a bag of trash seeking something to eat. We don't understand why anybody would leave their garbage in such a scenic area, but they did. We observed the bird pull a piece of paper out of the bag and toss it aside while continuing its search for food. We realized that this bird was going to cause a litter problem; therefore, USLitter.org re-bagged the litter and hauled it out of the park.
