AzLitter.org Officially Patrols Its Own Adopted Street

AzLitter.org did its first official pick-up of its adopted street (Price south-bound from Baseline to Guadalupe). Thank You to KathleenM for helping me pick-up litter on a sunny (and warm) Sunday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona.

The pick-up resulted in a lot of small litter pick-up (e.g. cellophane wrappers). We ignored most cigarette butts and broken glass. We picked-up 4 bags of litter and the pick-up took almost three hours.

Mistakes

I crossed a side-street in a non-defensive manner.

I went the wrong way. Next time we will begin from Guadalupe and go north -- against the traffic -- to Baseline.

We both did not have on vests.

AzLitter.org needs to get a first-aid kit.

Tempe Adopt-A-Street Information

Drove to Rio Salado and Hardy to get vest and bags. Two small forms must be submitted. This was Friday, 21 March 2003, around 9:30am.

Picked-up the street on Sunday, 23 March 2003 from 11:30am to almost 2:30pm.

Returned the vest and six bags to the same facility on Monday, 24 March 2003 around 10:00am. A small piece of paper work had to be completed.
