Sunday Walk Results in a Litter Find

On Sunday, 01 February 2004, I went for a walk around my neighborhood and at turn-around spot a litter problem was encountered. It appears as though somebody had been sloppy with their Sunday Arizona Republic newspaper. {picture ... picture ... picture}

There was no wind so I knew the paper wasn't going to blow anywhere; consequently, I returned home, fetched some garbage bags, the digital camera, and returned to the litter scene for a quick litter pick-up. The pick-up took 30 minutes. {picture ... picture ... picture}

I have no proof; however, this guy, who has become a temporary resident of a city park, was only few feet away from the litter scene may have been the source of the litter.

Litter Observation

Lots of litter is caused when people leave newspapers at bus stops. In addition, the paper bins that store free newspapers (e.g. New Times) also end up being good sources of litter.
